At a Glance

The highest priority of the state of Pennsylvania is placed on dual credit/dual enrollment and the early college high school initiative to enhance students' access to college. Even though the early college high school initiative is in an early state of development, its outcome is expected to be positive. Interestingly, there is a similar pathway that is not as comprehensive in terms of institutional structure, called Senior Choice Initiative, that provides senior high school students with the opportunity to earn high school and college credits.
