Currently the dual credit and AP programs are the state's major priorities for assisting high school aged students in making transition to college. The Idaho State Board of Education spans K-20 and views these two options as the means of enhancing transition. A large majority of the Board's focus is on compliance with the federal No Child Left Behind policy. The state is also involved in the Western Consortium for Accelerated Learning Opportunities (WCALO), which stresses expansion of the AP program.
