This 50-state inventory is a result of a compilation of state telephone survey data and an extensive search of state websites and printed documents. We attempted to collect survey data from at least one state official from each K-12 and higher education agency per state. Our aim was to construct information based on state surveys which contain three major categories: (a) presence of pathways in the state, (b) the state’s effort to reach underserved students, and (c) the state’s support for the pathways. Over 125 telephone interviews were conducted with more than 150 state officials in all 50 states.
